SMART IT People has a contract to hire opportunity for a Mid-level Java/J2EE Developer in Research Triangle Park (Durham), NC.
This position requires a mid-level resource competent in Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) technologies on Linux operating system to support LIMS and other applications. The ideal resource would be willing to learn new and old technologies as needed and provide occasional support during off business hours.
Required technical skills:
Java, JSP, SQL, UI and backend development
Desired technical skills:
3 tier development, Spring, WebLogic, Oracle, Adobe Flex, Angular and RESTful services.
Education / Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
4+ years execution of software application development
Familiar with various methodologies (SDLC), and their implementation in an IT organization
IT business process knowledge
Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Ability to plan, organize, and execute work across multiple initiatives to drive delivery of project commitments
Ability to interact with peers, BU customers, and mid-level management within the organization
Creative approach to resolving technical issues, and balancing business needs with project requirements
Works closely with team members to understand business requirements analyze code and deliver quality technical solutions.
Performs application maintenance and new development tasks
Provides clear communication and produces prescribed regulatory documentation for all system modifications.
Designs, develops, codes, tests and supports applications using multiple technologies
Provides day to day system support for internally developed applications.
Participates in peer design and code reviews to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards
Constructs and executes unit test scenarios
