SMART IT People has a full-time opportunity for a Sr. Software Engineer in Raleigh, NC.

Education and Experience

BS level technical degree required; Computer Science or Math background.
5 to 8 years of full-stack experience developing highly distributed web applications.
Capable of handling all aspects of the application, including but not limited to GUI, performance, scalability, security, and testing.
A strong understanding of SQL and relational databases with extensive experience writing applications that interact with them.
Experience designing databases and writing stored procedures, functions, and triggers is a plus.
A strong knowledge of web technologies and object-oriented languages.
Experience creating software that integrates with cloud orchestration platforms like Virtual Cloud Director, Open Stack, or Cloud stack is a plus.
Able to translate conceptual ideas into projects and tasks
Able to translate business needs to technical requirements
Driven to excel in areas of technical expertise and expand base of knowledge
Business acumen to determine feasibility of customer requests
Customer oriented: meets individual commitments, works with the team to achieve team commitments, responds to request in a timely manner, willing to help

Desired Skillsets 

Candidate must have experience in the following or similar technologies:

C#, JAVA, or similar object-oriented language
Ext-JS, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, JQuery
MS SQL Server, MySQL, or similar relational databases
TSQL or similar database scripting language
Web Services: SOAP, REST
VMWare and VCD API Experience
IIS, Apache, Tomcat
Windows, Linux
Subversion or similar source control software
JIRA or similar development issue tracking software.

Job description:

Design, code, test, and debug complex software while developing new functionality, and enhancing existing functionality to satisfy internal and external customer requirements. Design work encompasses a broader project/system scope.
Evaluate feasibility and make recommendations, considering things such as customer requirements, time limitations, and system limitations.
Define, scope, develop and perform testing methods, collaborating with other developers.
Support, maintain and document software functionality.
Provide operational support on complex/escalated issues to diagnose and resolve incidents in production systems.
Provide technical guidance on a wide range of systems/projects.
Provide quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values.
Other duties as assigned.
